Flurin Babst
Assistant Professor
Member of the Graduate Faculty
Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a faculty member of the School of Natural Resources and the Environment and its Watershed Management and Ecohydrology program. Prior to joining the University of Arizona in 2021, I was an Assistant Professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences and a Postdoc at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow, and Landscape Research WSL. My background is in forest ecology, biogeography, and remote sensing. I also have some experience with environmental biogeochemistry and with paleoclimatology. This background supports my research and teaching program at the University of Arizona, which aims at improving i) our understanding of carbon, water, and energy cycling in different vegetation types, and ii) the scientific basis of nature-based climate solutions.
