Are you interested in learning about undergraduate research? Have you ever wanted to tour state-of-an-art university labs?

The ACBIS Advising Center is offering lab tours with focuses in the fields of microbiology, animal sciences, and veterinary sciences from 2:00-3:45PM on Monday, September 25th.

The following labs will be featured as part of the tour:

  1. The Kerry K. Cooper Research Lab: Focuses on utilizing different -omic tools, phenotypes assays, and animal models to address the genomics, pathogenesis, and epidemiology of various bacterial foodborne pathogens.
  2. The Ravishankar Lab: Focuses on food safety research, including understanding survival strategies of foodborne pathogenic bacteria and applications of food-based antimicrobials on foods.
  3. The Schomer Lab: Focuses on how plant pathogenic (and commensal) bacteria sense host plant roots, and the adaptations that these pathogens use to enter hosts, exit hosts, and survive in a low nutrient soil in the absence of a host.

Full length pants or skirts and closed-toe shoes are required for the lab tour.

The deadline to RVSP is Sunday, September 24th, 11:59PM.
