Nicole Digonno

Undergraduate Research Ambassador

Nicole is an undergraduate student who is passionate about increasing access to research opportunities for students on campus. As an undergraduate researcher with the AZCEAL research team, she investigates the integration of Community Health Workers into clinical settings and the role of language concordance in healthcare experiences among Spanish-speaking patients. Nicole got involved in research through the ASEMS STARS program and has also presented her research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).

Apart from research, she is involved on campus as the founder of Community HealthEd – Tucson Chapter, where she helps develop evidence-based health education materials and mentors other students. She is also involved as a Banner volunteer in the Emergency Department. Outside of her academic endeavors, she enjoys country swing dancing, exploring Tucson, and trying new restaurants.
