Interested in community-engaged research? Want to be a part of a long-term research project?
The International Rescue Committee and other community partners are providing a fellowship opportunity to conduct community-based research this school year for one undergraduate student (25-26).
In this community-based research project, fellows will be working with Sonoran Center faculty and community partners to conduct and evaluate cross-organization trainings about refugees with disabilities from September 2025 - May 2026. Dr. Julie Armin will be leading the research project with the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities Director, Dr. Jacy Farkas.
What are the benefits?
- $1,000 stipend per semester (Fall 2025/Spring 2026) for an undergraduate student fellow
- Opportunity to learn how to do community-engaged research/evaluation
Who is eligible?
- Have lived experience or other experience with refugees and/or disabilities
- Have experience with and/or interest in community-engaged research
- Have time in their schedule for project activities and 2 units of credit each semester (Fall 2025/Spring 2026)
- Be outgoing, curious, and willing to learn
