The Arizona Board of Regents is proud to present the Regents' Cup, a tri-university speech and debate competition!
The Regents' Cup is a tri-university speech and debate competition presented by the Arizona Board of Regents. The U of A is hosting the 2026 competition and looking for Wildcats to represent us in Oxford debate and Storytelling categories.
Theme: The annual Regents' Cup competition is a celebration of free speech and civil discourse. The theme for the 2026 Regents' Cup is Liberty and Responsibility.
What are the benefits?
- Students selected to represent their university at the Regents' Cup are eligible to receive internship or course credit for their work and earn scholarships for participating.
- In addition, the board awards generous scholarships to first-, second- and third-place winners in the Oxford debate and Storytelling categories.
- All team members receive a scholarship award for participating. These scholarships are a one-time cash award and can be used by students, at their discretion, to support and advance their education.
Who is eligible?
- Full-time student (first-year through graduate students) at one of Arizona's public universities at the time of the Regents' Cup
- 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
- Application and essay submitted to Arizona Board of Regents' website
- Meet university expectations for preparation and participation
- Participate in Regents' Cup, March 28, 2026, at University of Arizona
