Interested in human health and sciences? Need fully-paid research for this summer?

The Environmental Health Sciences Research for Indigenous Student Engagement (EHS-RISE) is a summer opportunity for Native American and Alaska Native freshmen and/or transfer student to conduct research full-time on environmental factors that impact human health. EHS-RISE supports students’ cultural identity while providing training in research, and the program will offer housing, pay, professional development workshops, and opportunities to connect with fellow Native American college students for Summer 2026. EHS-RISE offers participants a full-time, paid 12-week research experience on a project related to environmental health sciences (environmental factors that impact human health) and provides housing, professional development workshops, and spiritual and community activities.  The content and structure of EHS-RISE has been deliberately selected to address the whole person, complementing the Native traditional belief that the body, mind, and spirit are interrelated.

This program will run from May 18 to August 7, 2026.

What are the benefits?
  • Housing: Receive free on-campus housing through UArizona Residence Life (double occupancy with another EHS-RISE student) for the summer
