UROC-Prep Year-Long Research Program - Application Deadline
Are you a junior looking for research both in the academic year and the summer? Interested in a graduate degree?
The UROC-Prep Research Program are welcoming applicants to apply by the deadline of November 1st!
Hosted by the UA Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC), UROC–PREP Program is a year-round undergraduate research and mentoring program for UArizona students who come from backgrounds underrepresented in graduate education, and have interest in pursuing a research oriented graduate degree (Master’s or PhD). This programs offers you an outstanding opportunity to learn how to conduct research, provide you with a summer research experience, and prepare for graduate studies. UROC-PREP participants have gone on to graduate, medical, law and other post-baccalaureate programs, both at The University of Arizona and at other prestigious universities. After participation in the program, many have already obtained a graduate or professional degree. UROC-PREP admits 6-8 students per application cycle.

What are the benefits?
- Summer Stipend: $5,000
- Course Credits: Six units of upper-division summer undergraduate (tuition and fees paid by the Graduate College)
- Specialized Courses: A writing course designed to help with the basics of writing a research paper and creating graduate application materials
- Mentorship Matching: UA Faculty mentor in your chosen field of study (may or may not be available for in person meetings)
- NOTE: UROR-PREP has a team of staff members to support scholars to achieve the objectives of the summer program
- Summer Coursework and Workshops: Topics will be on organizing research, research ethics, public speaking/communication skills training, creating and presenting an outstanding research poster, and crafting a successful graduate school application
- Networking: The opportunity to join with like-minded scholars in preparation for graduate school

Ready to apply? Apply on the UROC application portal, and check the "UROC Prep" along with any other programs you are interested in applying to. Students can apply to as many UROC programs as they prefer with only one application! The application deadline is in Friday, November 1st, 11:59 PM AZ Time. No letters of recommendation are required to apply!
