The Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program are welcoming sophomores to apply this fully-funded two-year research program!
The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair) is a two-year undergraduate research and grad school prep program for U of A main campus students who are either first-generation college students and low-income or who come from underrepresented backgrounds in graduation education. The goal of McNair is to prepare students for a PhD. McNair is an interdisciplinary program, so students from any major are encouraged to apply!
What are the benefits?

- 13 units of upper division credit
- $5,000 first summer stipend

- Presentations at a national conference
Who is eligible?
- Full-time U of A (Main Campus) student. US citizen
- Permanent legal resident, or has demonstrated their intention to become a permanent resident of the US
- First generation college student who meets federal low-income guidelines (FGLI) and/or underrepresented in graduate education
- Junior standing by end of upcoming spring semester with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Strong desire to pursue a doctoral degree
