Carnegie Mellon Computational Neuroscience Summer Research Program - Application Deadline

Interested in conducting computational neuroscience research? Need a fully-paid research internship this summer?

Carnegie Mellon - University of Pittsburgh invites all sophomore and junior undergraduate students to apply to their NIH-Funded summer undergraduate research program in computational neuroscience. They benefit from a partnership with the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition, a joint interdisciplinary program of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. A select group of talented undergraduates will embark on a 10-week residential program that provides intensive, mentored research experiences in computational and theoretical neuroscience.  The core of the program is the opportunity to carry out an individual mentored research project working closely with a faculty mentor. Other aspects of the scientific program include: faculty research talks, student presentations and discussion of articles from the scientific literature, presentations on career options and scientific ethics, and a concluding symposium in which students present their research.

Students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D after graduation and who are from an underrepresented background are especially encouraged to apply.

This program will run from May 27th, 2024 to August 3rd, 2024.

What are the benefits?

  • Stipend: $4500 for 10-weeks (aprox. $450/week)
  • Travel Expenses: Fully-paid travel to and from Pittsburgh, PA
  • Housing: Fully-paid university student dormitory living
