2023-24 2nd Annual UR Inspiración Symposium & Conference - Registration ends 10/24 at 3pm!

Wanting to learn how to communicate your research? Learn how to share your unique research talents and projects with the public at the 2023-24 URinspiration / URinspiración Symposium!

URinspiration/inspiración (Undergraduate International Research Symposium & Conference) is a FREE virtual symposium with workshops offered in both English and Spanish.  During URinspiration/inspiración, you will learn how to...

  • Create effective research presentations
  • Conduct powerful oral presentations
  • Tell compelling research stories
  • Foundational research skills, including information literacy and how to overcome the imposter syndrome

The URinspiration/inspiración Symposium will be held Wednesday, October 25, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM AZ Time, and is open to students from the University of New Mexico, Florida International University, the University of Arizona, and from universities in Argentina. You will be able to meet fellow students and other academic experts from North and South America. Sessions are offered throughout the day, so register and join the sessions you can attend. 

Students who participate in the URinspiration/inspiración Symposium are also then encouraged to present their research at the URinspiration/inspiración Conference, which will be held virtually on April 16, 2024.  During this conference, you will be able to present your research and gather feedback from university and international educators and researchers.  You will also engage with other student and faculty researchers through roundtable discussions and panel presentations. 

The URinspiration/URinspiración Symposium will include the following workshops:

  • Keynote: How can Artificial Intelligence (AI) be a resourceful tool in undergraduate research?
  • Overcoming Impostor Syndrome
  • Fulbright Opportunities for U.S. Students
  • Designing Effective Presentations and Research Posters
  • How to Prepare Effective Grad School Applications
  • A discussion on finding your personal motivation and using it as a foundation for time management
  • Voices of Experience: Students who conducted academic or scientific research at U.S. universities (Sessions in English and Spanish)
  • How to put together a strong PhD application in Biological or Biomedical Sciences
  • Language Learning Anxiety, Imposter Syndrome, Culture Shock, oh my! Overcoming Int'l Research Nerves
  • The Road to Your First Research Publication: Tools and Strategies for Success
  • Where can Humanities Research take You?
  • Academic public speaking: Tips on structuring oral presentations, conquering fears and getting ready
  • Data Visualization for Presentations
