Paid Undergraduate Research Opportunity on 3D Plant Roots: From images to quantitative biology

Position Description: 

Seeking undergraduate research assistants interested in working on a preliminary study to explore acclimatization of sorghum roots to drought and nutrient limited environments. The tasks involve performing 3D scanning of sorghum roots with our optical 3D scanner, using existing software to reconstruct 3D models and measure 3D root traits and statistical analysis of the computed root traits.

 

Preferred backgrounds: 

Ideally we would like to two undergraduates collaborating with biology/agriculture/plant science and engineering/computer science/statistics related majors. 

 

Duration: 

The position is already funded for one year and will likely have support for 2 years of research assistance.

 

Pay: 

$16.00/hour
