The University of Michigan’s Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 summer!
This all-expenses-paid program is designed to encourage students from diverse cultural, economic, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds to attend graduate school at the University of Michigan.
This program supports research from the following fields:
SROP
Social Sciences
Physical Sciences
Natural Sciences
Engineering
A few highlights of these programs:
- All expenses paid in addition to a stipend
- Research and graduate application mentorship by faculty and current graduate students
- Application fee waiver to apply to University of Michigan’s graduate school program

For interested SROP participants, we are holding application information sessions on Tuesday, January 26th and Wednesday, January 27th at 6:30pm. Please register for these sessions here.
Applications and supporting documentation must be received online by February 8, 2021, 11:59 p.m., EST. The application portal will not be available after this date.
U-M will notify applicants of acceptance into U-M SROP by email during March and April 2021. Offers of acceptance will continue until all available spots are filled.
Applicants who do not receive an offer of acceptance by email will be notified of their status in April 2021.
