Interested in being involved in research but not sure how to start? Enroll in a Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) class! CUREs bring real-world research into the classroom. No boring lectures - these are classes that make a difference! Consider the Music, Health, & Wellness Story Lab featured here, or check out the CURE webpage for more available opportunities.

THE MUSIC & HEALTH STORY LAB: This community engaged CURE (course-based undergraduate research experiences) course offers students a great introduction to digital storytelling (audio stories, film editing, webpage making) and also offers a strong foundation in thinking about intercultural connections between music, health and wellbeing. It is also a great course for introducing students to fieldwork practices both individual and collaborative. This fall, we will be doing a lot of work with intergenerational storytelling with multiple senior living facilities in Tucson and likely working toward an arts-based public installation about music and creative aging at a local senior living community. I have taught classes like this for years and it is often a very meaningful opportunity for students to be able to be involved in collaborative research and public-facing scholarship. There are no prerequisites and no prior skills needed in order to be able to participate.
