Bernard Parent is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona, where he is also an affiliated member of the Program in Applied Mathematics. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto's Institute for Aerospace Studies and has held academic and research positions globally, including at Pusan National University in South Korea, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Princeton University. His research focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) regarding plasma simulations, hypersonic flows, and magnetohydrodynamics, centered on his development of the CFDWARP code for ionized and reacting flowfields. An AIAA Associate Fellow (Class of 2024), Dr. Parent has been recognized with the AIAA Plasmadynamics & Lasers Best Paper Award and multiple Editor's Picks from Physics of Fluids.
