Native American students: Ready to make a difference in Healthcare? Explore Medicine PATH!
The Medicine PATH program is seeking Native American students to participate in a three week long experience based at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Medicine PATH program supports 8 motivated Native youth currently enrolled in college or university on their journey to becoming physicians from Monday, June 2nd, 2025 to Friday, June 20th, 2025 in Boston, Massachusetts. This program is not just a solution for today but a pathway to a more diverse, culturally competent, and inclusive healthcare workforce in the future. Participants will have the opportunity to shadow physicians and gain clinical exposure by viewing different specialties in diverse settings that may include emergency medicine, primary care, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology, and a variety of surgical specialties. Students will learn simulation skills which include practice procedural skills through simulation-based workshops. There will also be opportunities to experience interactive panels and workshops related to topics such as neuroscience research, basic life support, Indigenous health, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in healthcare, and more.

Who is eligible to apply?
- Age 18+
- Must be Native American and/or Alaska Native. Formal enrollment in one Tribal Nation(s) is mandatory
- Currently enrolled student in college or university (preference given to Tribal community/college students)
- Interest in becoming a physician
- Motivation to serve their community
- Academic potential
