When
Looking for a research position next semester? Interested in clinical research with PTSD and veterans?
The OHAIRE Lab from the College of Veterinary Medicine is looking for both undergraduate student research assistants (RAs) and full-time research assistant/technician to join their team! Please read below for further details about both positions!
- Undergraduate Student Research Assistant (RAs): RAs are for undergraduate student positions looking to be apart of the lab for the Spring 2024 semester, with the possibility of staying on for longer. Students will have the option to choose between being paid or earning research credits toward their degree. Undergrad RAs will work closely with the project coordinator, as well as graduate students and other undergraduates. RAs will have the opportunity to assist with two ongoing projects. The first project is a research study evaluating the effects of service dogs for veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The second project involves the OHAIRE, a unique behavioral coding tool developed to capture interactions between animals and humans. Students will be expected to work 10 hours per week, equivalent to 3 credit hours.
- Full Time (40hr/week) Research Assistant/Technician: Students who are graduating this Winter or Spring are encouraged to apply. This person would get to work directly with research participants nation-wide through an NIH-funded clinical trial of veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and their families and build the evidence base underlying service dog partnerships for veterans with PTSD. It’s a hands on, boots on the ground, position, so they are looking for a creative, organized and enthusiastic individual on to help lead the study to success. Full University of Arizona benefits apply!
