Lexi Vance

Undergraduate Research Ambassador

Lexi is a senior majoring in Environmental Science with a Soil, Air, Water emphasis and minoring in Microbiology. She first began her journey in research in the summer of 2022 with the Undergraduate Biology Research Program (UBRP) and has since then been an undergraduate research assistant under Dr. Reynolds at The Environment, Exposure Science, and Risk Assessment Center (ESRAC). In the spring of 2024, she worked as a directed research intern at the UA WEST Center, mentored by Dr. Ikner in her environmental microbiology lab. During the summer of 2024, Lexi was also an Oak Ridge Institute for Science & Education (ORISE) research intern at the National Laboratory for Agriculture and The Environment in Ames, IA. On campus, Lexi is an environmental science peer mentor, the executive vice president of the MycoCats club, and the Professional Development Chair for the Epsilon Eta Tau environmental fraternity. Outside of campus, she enjoys hiking with friends, going to the farmers market, and playing double bass.
