Angel Hernandez

Undergraduate Research Ambassador

Angel is a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biochemistry. He is a first-generation Mexican American college student and plans to get a PhD in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Cellular Engineering for treating Neurological Disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis. Driven by his curiosity, Angel has experience participating in Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs), is a Ronald E. McNair Achievement Scholar, and completed a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in New Jersey this past summer. Besides science, Angel is adamant about Latino representation in STEM and has enjoyed mentorship roles as a Resident Assistant and as a middle school tutor. Outside of academics, Angel enjoys napping. Like a lot. But if he is not napping, he also enjoys spending time with friends and hanging out.
